With an uncertain weather pattern and light rain threatening to put a damper on
the festivities, the skies finally cleared and the day ended with a bright sunny
sky. While the weather kept the attendance down from last year, over 250
members and their families turned out to participate in the Branch picnic. This
year's hit was the addition of two inflatable obstacle courses, along with the
usual favorites such as the dunk tank and ponies and of course the
ever-popular treasure island. My special thanks go out to the picnic committee
whose hard work made the day possible, and who have been making it look
easy over the years; Cindy Trzeciak, Cathy Tondreau, Leonard Zawisa, and
Jim Powell. I would also like to thank the many volunteers who gave up their
day to make the picnic happen, Jim Wolstencroft, Joe Golonka, Walter
McGregory, Daria McGregory, Patty Linna, Gloria Warthen, Casey Pennington
and family, John Danius, Darryl Clay, Mel MacDonald, Rose Miller, Scott
Wandyg, Andrea Smith, Sharon Baranowski, Calvin Winbush, Ted Gagnon,
Darrin Mifsud, Lois Fritz, Megan Fritz, Joe Garcia and family, Helen Stacho, and
last but not least Tyler Wolstencroft. I would also like to thank our corporate
sponsors who made donations on behalf of the Branch to MDA, Congressman
John Dingell, Allie Brothers Uniform, Brookfield Uniform, National City Bank,
Brown's Bun Bakery, Cuda Uniform and D&L Nursery. The ponies are on
retainer for next year so make your plans to attend now!
